The Miami-Dade CIT program is a community-based approach that bridges the gaps between law enforcement and behavioral health. Through community partnerships and collaboration, this alliance promotes systems transformation that improves safety, reduces inappropriate incarceration and redirect individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders from the criminal justice system to the health care system, when appropriate. ***Please keep in mind this class is open to all departments.
